Meet Ali

Hi! I’m Ali, the face behind The Joyful Birth. I am a wife, Mama, Christian, Las Vegas native, and the list goes on. I am a birth enthusiast, who truly enjoys helping families plan for and welcome new little ones into this world.  

My own personal experiences are what led me down this path.  After a life-long fear of childbirth, in 2018 I became pregnant with my first child. I had A LOT of fear- so therefore had a lot of dismantling to do. I chose to birth in a hospital setting, and after numerous interventions, 3 1/2 hours of pushing, I met my first born. I tried to do all the “right things” I hired a doula, a hospital based midwife (after firing my obgyn) but still ended up in a system that didn’t truly support physiological birth. My whole pregnancy I spent so much time researching, studying, and trying to teach myself to trust birth when the world of birthwork was opened up to me. I knew I wanted another child soon after, (which I did in 2020) and told myself when I was done breastfeeding I would dive in. In 2021 I became a certified Doula through Dona international, and started my midwifery apprenticeship with a local midwife who has been serving the Las Vegas valley for 13 years. 

In my personal time I am the wife to an amazing husband. We have been married for 8 years. I have three of my own children. One who was born at home. Being a mama is ultimately my greatest achievement. My hobbies include reading, painting, and gabbing with friends. We are a homeschooling family, and I love all the extra time I get with my kids because of it! 

My husband and I serve in youth ministry, trying to also make a difference in teenagers lives. God is my foundation, and without Christ I wouldn’t be where I am today, and am grateful for his hand, and his salvation upon my life. 

I’ve always felt I was destined for “more” and I feel I’ve found that in midwifery. I’ve discovered Its not neccarily a “more”- it‘s a purpose; It is a calling that I never expected in my life. I am blessed to have an amazing support system that allows me to be fully present for the families I serve.  My goal is to provide comprehensive, personalized care to the families of Las Vegas. My services include- Prenatal,  Labor,  Delivery, Postpartum, and newborn care. I am here to serve you and your support people. I can help you plan for your birth, practice comfort measures, create a birth plan, support you through your labor, and help you with lactation.

My birth philosophy is this:

I believe that birth is a natural and empowering experience. I strive to provide you with the tools and support to make informed decisions about your care and to have a positive birth experience. I believe every woman should be supported throughout her pregnancy and birth.  Above all I believe women should be provided with evidence based information, supported, and met wherever they may be in their pregnancy journeys. It is not one size fits all! 

 The work I do is so impactful, and truly is my calling.
